Well, after some pondering today, and a really thought-provoking question from Eremite, I've come to the realization that our interview questions really aren't up to par with the type of person we want to let in. As Our Leader, Alyra himself, has already commended me (and Eremite) on our excellent questioning skills, I've decided to compile a list of possible questions for interviews. I think these will come in handy as our member numbers begin to boom:


What does Kant have to say about the Sublime?
Who wrote the great critical work, Ars Poetica?
Who wrote the great critical work, On The Sublime?
What does Aristotle have to say about an improbable possibility vs an impossible probabilty?
What was S T Coleridge's son's name?
How many stanza's are in Shelley's poem Ozymandius?
What does it mean to you to allow another person to fully love you?
When will you stop attempting to improve yourself and finally bring acceptance to your battered soul?
What are the three Nevers of your life?
Why do people more commonly skip breakfast than any other meal, considering that this is the time when the stomach is emptiest?
How are children supposed to take medicine if it’s meant to be kept out of their reach?

How many satellites does Mars have and what are their names?
Describe in detail the differences between a white dwarf, red dwarf, blue dwarf, and brown dwarf, as well as how stars arrive at those stages.

What is the name of Gully's second child's deceased mother in the British TV series Monarch of the Glen?
How did PJ lose his eyesight in the soap Byker Grove?
In the soap Tell Me Your Number, Baby, how is Tom's mother's father's cousin's nephew's step-brother's classmate actually related to Tom's sister Susan?

While these questions certainly are thought-provoking, I can't say that a lot of them can be used, since the point isn't to confuse them (I don't know the answers to the ones that are supposed to have definitive answers). Though, the open-ended ones are pretty interesting, and will certainly single out people from among the applicant pool. However, the flaw with this is that some of these issues are extremely subjective, which means that I'd be biased since their views would end up the same as mine.

So? Some bias-ism is good. I mean, we don't want someone to answer the question "What are the three Nevers in your life?" with these:

Never stop eating
Never respect anyone else
Never pay my rent

A person like that would only bring chaos to the guild. I am biased against him (because it is obviously a guy).

mm, I'll think about it, but don't count on most of these questions being used. They're too eccentric.
